For the group work project, we decided to do the Recession project. The task was to show what the recession meant to you. Working in a group did not work out for many reasons; one being that no one came up with any ideas.
My idea was to show that the recession has not affected me in any way. TO best do this, I thought it would be interesting to show a satire of the effects of the recession and to what other candidates would be doing. I wanted to look as if we made a film about nothing, but in fact it had deeper meaning.
The plan was to rotoscope the video on Flash after finished, giving each group member a segment. This would have created a disjointed look, as we all have different styles.
As a fan of Alejandro Jodorowsky, director of El Topo, I wanted to do a Jodorowsky type film. In El Topo, there are many scenes that to the average viewer would seem pointless, but contains more meaning than to just go out and say it directly.
I don’t think my group completely understood this, and decided for a more YouTube like stupidity than deeper meaning.
The second video was by a man working at Game, who was being sacked because the store he was working in was being closed.
